Aisha Jamila Hinds is an American actress best recognized for her appearances on the television series The Shield and True Blood. Since her debut in 2003, she has shown her acting versatility by giving outstanding performances in television series such as 9-1-1 Detroit 1--8-7 as well as Under the Dome. Her character in Assault on Precinct 13 from 2005 was the first one to grab her the attention of viewers. The film was her portrayal of Fannie Lou (a women's activist for rights) for the biographical All the Way film that made her famous as an actor. Hind was also praised for her role as Harriet Tubman in WGN America's historical show, the drama Underground. She currently stars on the procedural drama series 9-1-1 in the leading role of firefighter/paramedic Henrietta Hen Wilson. The show was renewed for a new season by 20th Century Fox Television. Hind was recently shot the Hollywood film Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It is expected to premiere around the middle of 2019. Her father Krishnaraj is who was an Army scientist who died on March 18 2017. She and her mother Vrinda are both domestic helpers. Aditya Rai, her elder brother, is a marine merchant engineer. Bachchan's older brother Aditya Rai wrote and co-produced Dil Ka Rishta along with their mother. She attended Arya Vidya Mandir High School located in Mumbai where her family had relocated. Following her completion of intermediate courses at Jai Hind College, she took up a place at D.G. Ruparel College in Matunga where she scored a 95% in the H.S.C. exams. The student spent the majority of her adolescence studying music and classical dance. Her passion was for Zoology. Bachchan at the time, studying architecture, won the title of Miss World in the year 1994. The award catapulted her into the world of modeling's rapid lane. She was hired by PepsiCo Inc., Vogue magazine as well as L'Oreal Paris as spokesmodel in 2003. In 1997, she played two critically acclaimed roles: Iruvar and Aur pyaar ho gaya. Bachchan got a shot at the front line of New Bollywood after both films break the norms of Bollywood films of the time. Her heartbreaking portrayal of Paro, the woman who was cheated on during Devdas (2002) the film that was one of the most well-known Bollywood films of the time. She was the first Indian to join the jury of the Cannes Film Festival. Bachchan was in Bride and Prejudice by Gurinder Chadha, which is a musical and dance version of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. She was a star with a beautiful face and were brought to the premier major film in English. In 2006, Bachchan made her return to Bollywood with her hit movie Dhoom: 2 before releasing Provoked: The True Story in English. In April 2007, she got married Abhishek Bachchan, a regular co-star, and father of Bollywood famous Amitabh Bachchan in a marriage which brought together two of the most influential personalities in India.
